Borussia Dortmund achieved an important victory against Cologne with a score of 2-1, in the match that brought them together in the 25th round of the German Bundesliga, at the RheinEnergieStadion.

Dortmund opened the scoring early in the 16th minute through striker Serhou Guirassy, before Cologne player Jhemie Simpson Boussey received a red card in the second minute of stoppage time for the first half, 45+2, leaving the hosts to play with ten men.

In the second half, Dortmund continued their dominance and succeeded in enhancing the score by netting the second goal in the 60th minute through Maximilian Pierre, bringing the team closer to securing the match.

Two minutes before the end of the match, Cologne managed to reduce the deficit after Jakub Kaminski scored the first goal for his team in the 88th minute, but it wasn't enough to avoid defeat.

With this win, Borussia Dortmund raised their tally to 55 points to occupy second place in the Bundesliga standings, while Cologne's tally froze at 24 points in thirteenth place.
