Thiago Motta Nominated to Lead Tottenham
Saturday 07-03-2026
Reports relayed by the "Football Italia" website revealed that Italian coach Thiago Motta is one of the leading candidates to take over as manager of Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League, succeeding Croatian coach Igor Tudor, less than a year after leaving his position at Juventus.

Motta was dismissed from coaching Juventus on March 23 of last year, after a season filled with heavy spending and disappointing results. On the same day, it was announced that Tudor would take over the team with a short-term contract until the end of the 2024/2025 season, before later receiving an extension until the summer of 2028.

However, Theodore did not last long at Juventus and was replaced by the current coach Luciano Spalletti at the end of October. He later took over coaching Tottenham on a short-term contract until the end of the season, but he lost the first three league matches, leaving the team just one point above the relegation zone with nine rounds remaining in the season.

Italian and British press reports indicate that Tottenham's management is considering dismissing Tudor after a shaky start, and Motta is one of the leading options to take over the managerial role, alongside Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi.
