The legendary goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Deayea, former star of Al-Hilal, criticized the behavior of Englishman Ivan Toney, Al-Ahli's striker, following his controversial celebration during the match against Al-Ittihad in the Jeddah Derby as part of the Saudi League competitions.

The incident occurred after Ivan Toney scored the first goal for Al-Ahly in the 23rd minute of the first half, contributing to his team's victory over Al-Ittihad with a score of three goals to one.

The match was held on Friday evening at the Al-Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, as part of the 25th round of the Saudi Professional League.

Al-Daeyea spoke during his appearance on the program "Our League is Different," expressing his dissatisfaction with the way Tony celebrated, emphasizing that some gestures might be misinterpreted and provoke rival fans.

The former Al-Hilal goalkeeper explained that such actions could cause tension in the stands, especially in sensitive and major matches like the Jeddah Derby, which enjoys a wide following from fans.

Al-Daeyea pointed out that players are required to exercise wisdom in such situations, adding that celebrating in front of the opposing team's fans in this manner may open the door to unnecessary problems.

After scoring the goal, Ivan Toney headed towards the corner flag near the Union fans and celebrated in a manner that some considered provocative, which sparked a wave of criticism after the match.

In terms of standings, Al-Ahli Jeddah topped the Saudi Professional League table after raising their tally to 62 points following their victory in the derby of the 25th round.
