Al Ahli Stuns Al Ittihad with a Resounding Three-Goal Victory in the Jeddah Derby

Al-Ahli team achieved an important victory over its rival Al-Ittihad with a score of three goals to one in the Jeddah derby, which brought the two teams together in the twenty-fifth round of the Saudi Roshan League.

The Al-Inma Stadium at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah hosted the intense match that saw a clear dominance by Al-Ahli, allowing them to continue their pressure in the race for the top spot in the league.

The English striker Ivan Toney succeeded in opening the scoring for Al-Ahly in the 23rd minute, after capitalizing on a precise ground pass from the Brazilian Galeno, ending the first half with the home team leading by one goal to nil.

At the start of the second half, Brazilian Fabinho managed to bring Al-Ittihad back into the match by scoring the equalizing goal from a penalty kick in the 51st minute.

However, the Al-Ahli response came quickly through the Algerian star Riyad Mahrez, who scored the second goal in the 59th minute, giving his team a new advantage in the score.

Minutes before the end, substitute Firas Al-Buraikan sealed the match by adding the third goal in the 84th minute, confirming Al-Ahli's superiority in the derby.

With this victory, Al-Ahly raised its tally to 62 points, temporarily leading the league standings, one point ahead of Al-Nassr, which is preparing to face Neom, while Al-Ittihad's tally remained at 42 points in sixth place.
