The Technical Committee of Referees announced the appointment of the international Spanish referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero to officiate the match between Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona on Saturday, March 7 at San Mames Stadium as part of the 27th round of the Spanish League.

This assignment marks the fourth time Munuera has officiated a Barcelona match this season, following the encounter with Mallorca in the first round, the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid, and the Copa del Rey quarter-final against Albacete. One of the matches sparked controversy due to his failure to stop play after a player suffered a concussion.

Munuera Montero has a strong record with both teams, having officiated 33 matches for Barcelona, in which the team achieved 24 wins, 3 draws, and 6 losses. He also officiated 25 matches for Athletic Bilbao this season, recording 13 wins, 7 draws, and 5 losses.

Referee Valentin Pizarro Gomez will be in charge of the video technology during the match, ensuring the accuracy and transparency of refereeing decisions.

Saturday's match will be the fifth between the two teams this season after several encounters in the league and the Copa del Rey, with fans eagerly anticipating the outcome of the San Mames clash.
