In an interview with Germany's Sky Sport on the program "The Story of My Life," Ballack spoke about the immense difficulty he faces in dealing with this loss, expressing an indescribable pain. He described talking about his son as a process of "concealing emotion" that still deeply pains him, which was evident in his tearful expression during the conversation.

Ballack confirmed that he is trying to continue his daily life by relying on his work and family, especially his other sons, Louis and Jordi. He emphasized that losing Emilio has made him more keen on protecting his family and cherishing moments with them.
