CAF Sanctions on Al Ahly of Egypt

Today, Thursday, the Egyptian Al Ahly Club received a notification from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) regarding the sanctions on the club.

Al Ahly stated in a statement that it received a letter from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) which included the decision of the Disciplinary Committee to ban its fans from attending "African matches for the next two games, with the second game being suspended."

He added that he received "a financial fine of $50,000 in addition to another $10,000 for using lasers. This was due to the behavior of the fans during the match between Al Ahly and the Royal Army at the end of the group stage."

The Al Ahly fans engaged in riots and threw empty bottles at the Royal Army players at the end of the group stage of the African Champions League.
