Barcelona Celebrates Ronald Araujo After His 200th Match with the Team
Thursday 05-03-2026
Reports, most notably from the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," stated that FC Barcelona held a special celebration on Thursday to mark the occasion of their Uruguayan defender Ronald Araújo playing his 200th match for the team in all official competitions.

This celebration came after the disappointment of the team's exit from the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, following their inability to complete a comeback against Atletico Madrid last Tuesday at Spotify Camp Nou, despite the exceptional performance the team delivered.

Araujo played his match against Atletico Madrid, participating in the last 20 minutes as a forward in search of a fourth goal that did not materialize. He was honored after training with a commemorative jersey for the occasion, which was handed to him by his teammate Raphinha, while coach Hans Flick congratulated him on the occasion.

The injured players Koundé, Balde, and Andreas Christensen were unable to attend the handover moment due to continuing their treatments, while another injured player, Frenkie de Jong, appeared in the commemorative photo.

The report confirmed that Araujo's teammates showed their support for him after the captain had to leave the game this season due to mental health issues. Everyone helped him get through that phase and reaffirmed their support and solidarity with him during this celebration.
