Thursday 05-03-2026
The Royal Army achieved an important away victory against its host Wydad Athletic Club with a score of two goals to one, in the match that brought them together as part of the postponed ninth round of the Inwi Professional National Championship.

The military team opened the scoring in the 19th minute with an own goal by Walid Sabbar, who mistakenly scored in his own net. Hakim Ziyech then restored balance for Wydad in the 28th minute with a remarkable shot that brought the match back to square one.

The first half was open from both sides, with an exchange of offensive attempts, but a lack of focus prevented the opportunities from being converted into additional goals.

With the start of the second half, the Royal Army took control of the game, managing to score the second goal through Youssef El Fahli, benefiting from a clear advantage in positioning and offensive effectiveness.

The Wydad players attempted to equalize during the remaining minutes, but the solid defense of the Army team and their organization in counterattacks prevented any change in the score.

With this victory, the Royal Army raised its tally to 25 points, temporarily placing them in third position, while Wydad's tally remained at 26 points in second place, intensifying the competition for the top spots.
