Merih Demiral has been confirmed absent for the match between Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad in the 25th round of the Roshn League.

Al-Ahli will host its rival Al-Ittihad on Friday evening in the anticipated Jeddah derby, amidst a significant setback with the Turkish defender being ruled out.

Demiral sustained a new injury during training and underwent medical examinations at a specialized center in Jeddah to check on his condition.

Medical follow-up confirmed that he was suffering from a tendon muscle injury, which necessitated his entry into a rehabilitation program without risking his participation in the match.

Al-Ahly had previously missed the player's services in nine matches, including seven in the league and two in the AFC Champions League for the elite.

Demiral played 25 matches across various competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
