Football Federation Discusses Fate of Roshan Representatives in Asia
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation held an extensive meeting with the Professional League Association and representatives of the Saudi clubs participating in Asian competitions to discuss developments in the AFC Champions League Elite and AFC Champions League 2 tournaments.
The meeting was held via video conferencing as part of the General Secretariat's plan to ensure that continental participations align with the schedule of local competitions in the upcoming phase.
The federation confirmed in its statement that the meeting comes as a continuation of the approach of consulting with clubs and listening to their opinions with the aim of reaching organizational solutions that serve the interests of Saudi football.
The session witnessed a review of the Asian Football Confederation's statement regarding the postponement of the Round of 16 matches, in addition to discussing its impact on the schedule of teams both locally and continentally.
Proposals were also put forward by the federation and the league association, with an assessment of their suitability to the current schedule before final recommendations are formulated.
The attendees agreed to give the clubs a deadline until Tuesday noon to submit their comments, in preparation for presenting the proposals to the Asian Federation to make the appropriate decision in coordination with all parties.
