Officially.. Postponement of the Al-Nassr and Al-Wasl Match in the AFC Champions League Quarter-Finals
The Asian Football Confederation officially announced the postponement of the first leg matches of the AFC Champions League quarter-finals, affecting the match between Al-Nassr and Al-Wasl of the UAE.
The continental federation clarified in its statement that the postponement also includes the matches of the Asian Challenge League for West Zone clubs, with a new date to be set later.
The first leg matches were scheduled for March 3 and 4, before the postponement decision was issued due to the current developments in the Middle East.
The statement confirmed that the matches of the Eastern Region clubs in all the federation's club tournaments will be held according to the previously approved schedule without any changes.
Thus, the anticipated Arab summit between Al-Nassr and Al-Wasl in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League 2 is postponed, after the first leg was initially planned to be held at Zabeel Stadium on March 4.
The return match was scheduled to be held at Al Awal Park on March 11, but the new date will be determined later in coordination with the concerned parties.
It is noted that Al-Nassr reached this stage after overcoming Turkmenistan's Arkadag with a 1-0 win in both the first and second legs, while Al-Wasl qualified by defeating Iraq's Al-Zawraa with an aggregate score of 6-5 in the round of 16.
