Thursday 26-02-2026
Coach Moamen Soliman, head coach of the Iraqi Police team, held his press conference today, Wednesday, regarding his team's match against Al-Zawraa, which is one of the most prominent matches in the current round of the Iraqi Stars League. The conference was held in the Police Club hall, attended by the media, the technical staff, and the administrative team, where the coach highlighted the players' readiness and preparations for the anticipated match.

Soliman emphasized that the match represents a significant challenge for the team, saying: “We fully understand the importance of this confrontation, and by God's will, we will be ready for it. We know that Al-Zawraa is going through a difficult period currently, but our focus is on performance on the field, and we aim to achieve victory to continue the positive results we started some time ago.”

He added: “We have a team with extensive experience in handling big matches and in front of large crowds, and we always try to present the best levels. The players' character and their ability to control the course of the match are among our strongest points, and we will work to fully invest in them to achieve the desired result.”

Soliman pointed out the influence of Al-Zawraa's new coach, saying: “Luay Salah is a great coach with a clear imprint on the clubs he previously led, but the time available to him with Al-Zawraa is very short, and it is expected that he will face difficulty in imposing his ideas on the team before tomorrow's match.”

The coach confirmed that his team's focus is not limited to the technical side only but also includes the psychological aspect: “We know that derby matches are always charged with psychological pressure, so we strive to maintain the players' calmness and focus on our tactical plan. We want to show the strong personality of the Police and control the details of the match from the start.”

Soliman also added that the team conducted intensive training in the past days, focusing on collective movements, organizing defensive and offensive lines, and special exercises on pressing the opponent and controlling the midfield, ensuring the best readiness before the kickoff.

Moamen Soliman concluded his remarks by affirming that the Police team is determined to continue the positive results, saying: “Every player knows what is required of him, and we trust their ability to deliver a strong match and achieve victory against Al-Zawraa, because maintaining continuity in good results is our primary goal this season.”

All eyes are on tomorrow's match, where the audience awaits an exciting and competitive encounter between two teams striving to win, amidst enthusiastic atmospheres in the stands, with expectations that the confrontation will be an opportunity to affirm both teams' character and their standings in the league.
