Real Madrid secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory against their guest Benfica in the second leg of the playoff qualifying for the Champions League round of 16, in a match held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

With this victory, the royal team secured their spot in the round of 16 with an aggregate score of (3-1), having previously won the away leg 1-0.

Benfica opened the scoring early through Rafa Silva in the 14th minute, after he capitalized on a cross that was cleared by Raúl Asensio. The ball reached him following a save by Thibaut Courtois, and Rafa skillfully followed it into the net.

But Real Madrid's response was quick, taking only two minutes, as Aurélien Tchouaméni equalized in the 16th minute, benefiting from a precise ground cross sent by Federico Valverde, which he converted with a powerful shot into the goal.

In the second half, Vinicius Junior scored the winning goal after receiving an excellent through pass from Valverde. He sprinted towards the penalty area and fired a low shot into the net, securing Real Madrid's qualification to the next round.
