Onana Hopes to Return as First-Choice Goalkeeper with Manchester United
Wednesday 25-02-2026
A report by The Guardian stated that Cameroon national team goalkeeper, André Onana, is seeking to return to Manchester United and compete for the starting goalkeeper position after his loan period with the Turkish club Trabzonspor ends next May.

The report indicated that the task will not be easy for Onana, especially after the impressive performance by Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens, who has kept the team's goal clean many times and saved a large number of dangerous shots since joining the team last summer.

Onana transferred to Manchester United in 2023 from Inter Milan, but he lost his starting position due to some mistakes and inconsistency in his performance, prompting the club to loan him out this season.

Despite the difficulties, the report indicated that Onana is determined to compete and reclaim his place in the starting lineup, but his future will remain tied to the decisions of the coaching staff and the performance of his current teammate.
