The National Technical Directorate of Refereeing announced a series of disciplinary sanctions following the end of the thirteenth round of the Moroccan Professional Championship, in light of the controversy that accompanied the match between Raja Club Athletic and Ittihad Tanger.

According to the official statement, it was decided to suspend the main referee, Noufal Nasheet, for five matches after a comprehensive evaluation of his performance during the match. The sanctions also included the assistant video assistant referee, Abdel Rahim Al-Rakhiz, who was suspended for four matches, in addition to the video assistant referee, Bouazza Ikn, who received a three-match suspension.

The decisions were not limited to the VAR team, as the first assistant referee, Abdel Razzaq Al-Mutamanni, and the second assistant referee, Mustafa Abikhar, were also suspended for three matches each.

The directorate confirmed that these measures fall within its policy aimed at ensuring the proper application of game laws and enhancing integrity and transparency within national competitions, emphasizing that the evaluation of refereeing performance is conducted according to precise and objective standards without exception.

This step comes amid increasing demands from clubs and fans for the need to improve the level of refereeing, in line with the development of the competition and to uphold the principle of equal opportunities among all teams.
