Brazilian Federation Shows Solidarity with Vinicius

The Brazilian Football Confederation expressed solidarity with Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior after he was subjected to racism by Benfica player Gianluca Prestianni during the first leg of the UEFA Champions League playoff between the two teams.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) stated: "The CBF expresses its solidarity with Vinicius Junior, who was the victim of another racist act on Tuesday, after scoring a goal for Real Madrid against Benfica in Lisbon."

He added, "Racism is a crime. It is unacceptable. It cannot exist in football or anywhere else."

He added, "Vini, you are not alone."

He concluded: "Your stance in activating the protocol is an example of courage and dignity. We are proud of you. We will remain steadfast in combating all forms of discrimination. We stand with you. Always."
