Borussia Dortmund secured an important 2-0 victory over Atalanta in a match held at Signal Iduna Park, as part of the playoffs qualifying for the round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League.

Serhou Guirassy opened the scoring early for Dortmund in the third minute, giving his team a quick advantage at the start of the match. The German team continued their pressure, with Maximilian Beyer adding the second goal in the 42nd minute, confirming the home side's dominance before the end of the first half.

Atalanta failed to score throughout the match, despite their attempts to come back in the game, resulting in Dortmund winning 2-0 in the first leg.

The two teams are scheduled to meet again in the second leg at New Balance Arena on Wednesday, February 25, to determine the qualification for the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
