Ceramica Defeats Zamalek and Advances to Egypt Cup Quarterfinals
Ceramica Cleopatra succeeded in advancing to the quarterfinals of the Egypt Cup after defeating Zamalek 2-1 in the match held on Tuesday evening in the round of 16 of the tournament.
Ceramica's first goal was scored by Zamalek player Hossam Abdel Majeed by mistake in his own net in the 18th minute, and in the 45+1 minute, Mohamed Ismail equalized for Zamalek. Then in the 70th minute, Ahmed Belhaj added the second goal for Ceramica.
Zamalek had qualified for the round of 16 after defeating Baladiya Al-Mahalla in the round of 32 with a clean goal, while Ceramica advanced to this round after winning against Abu Qir Fertilizers 2-0.
Zamalek will meet Tala'ea El-Gaish in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 18th.
