Regulations Expert Reveals Expected Penalty for Al-Ahly Fans
Amer Al-Amayreh, a regulations expert, revealed the expected penalties for Al-Ahly fans following the recent events in the match against AS FAR in the African Champions League.
The match between Al Ahly and AS FAR, which took place yesterday, Sunday, in the sixth and final round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League, ended in a goalless draw, 0-0, allowing both teams to qualify together for the quarter-finals of the tournament.
During the match, Al-Ahly fans excessively threw some projectiles and empty water bottles at the Royal Army fans.
Al-Amayreh said in statements on the "Game and the Other" program on "Mega FM" radio: "Al-Ahly will not be deprived of its fans in the knockout stages, and only a financial penalty will be imposed."
He added: "What happened yesterday with Al Ahly fans during the match against the Royal Army was their first incident, and if it is repeated, Al Ahly will be deprived of its fans."
He concluded: "The decision will be a two-match ban on spectators with a suspended execution."
