Wydad Athletic Club achieved a hard-fought victory over Azam with a score of two goals to none, in the match that brought them together on Sunday evening at the Mohammed V Complex Stadium in Casablanca, as part of the final round of the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The first goal came in the 64th minute when Azam defender, Msindo, accidentally scored an own goal, before Walid Nassi added the second goal in the dying moments of the match, confirming the Red team's superiority and securing the result.

The match witnessed the brilliance of Hakim Ziyech, who delivered an outstanding performance, especially in the second half, threatening the Tanzanian team's goal on multiple occasions. However, the alertness of the goalkeeper prevented his attempts from being converted into goals.

With this victory, Wydad finished the group stage at the top of its group standings with 15 points, securing qualification to the quarter-finals, where it will learn about its next opponent next Tuesday.
