Mustafa Qabil, the star of Erbil Club, succeeded in entering the considerations of Iraqi national team coach Graham Arnold, who is searching for ready players to participate in the world playoff match qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

Qabil is delivering outstanding performances in an exceptional season within the Iraqi Stars League, having played 13 out of 17 matches so far, scoring 5 goals and assisting 6.

Sources said: "Graham Arnold is largely convinced to include Mustafa Qabil in the Iraqi national team, as the player's name appears on the initial list of the team that will play the world playoff qualifying for the World Cup. He also conducted an interview at the American embassy in Baghdad to obtain a visa to enter the United States."

They added: "Qabil took permission from his team coach Basim Qasim to complete the procedures and requirements for issuing a visa to the United States over the past few days, then returned to Erbil's ranks, and will be present in the decisive match today against Zakho in the eighteenth round of the Iraqi Stars League."

It clarified: "Qabil will try to present his best performances in the Erbil vs. Zakho match, especially since the match will be attended by Iraq's coach Graham Arnold, who will be in the stadium to follow him closely, after the striker succeeded in catching the coach's attention to be present in the decisive world playoff match against Bolivia or Suriname."

The sources continued: "Qabil, after his transfer to Al-Ahly of Egypt fell through, decided to focus on successfully completing his season with the Erbil team, hoping to transfer to the Egyptian team in the upcoming summer transfer window. Before that, he will try with all his might to be present with the Iraqi national team in the world playoff, hoping to qualify for the World Cup and participate in the tournament."
