Former Iraqi Football Star Reveals Reasons for Rejecting the Federation

Younis Mahmoud, the retired Iraqi football star, revealed exciting details about a substantial offer he received from the federation during his professional career.

The striker, nicknamed "The Executioner," explained that he received an offer for three seasons worth 12 million dollars during Mansour Al-Balawi's presidency of the club.

During his appearance on the podcast "Al-Kashef," Younis Mahmoud mentioned that he rejected the offer despite its significant value, preferring to continue with Al-Gharafa in Qatar due to his sense of stability and comfort there.

He added that the atmosphere he experienced in Qatar was ideal, explaining that all the conditions were set for him to shine, which led him to decide to stay.

The Iraqi star admitted that if he had moved to the Saudi league at that time, he would have been able to compete for the top scorer title, praising the strength of the competition and the remarkable fan attendance.

He also touched on his brief experience with Al-Ahli Saudi in 2013, confirming that he earned 1.5 million dollars in two months, considering that this reflects his artistic value at that time.
