Chicago Fire Insists on Signing Robert Lewandowski
Saturday 14-02-2026
The American club Chicago Fire continues its efforts to sign Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, whose contract with Barcelona expires at the end of the current season, as they await his final decision regarding his future, according to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo."

According to the report, Lewandowski has several offers to change his environment, but he will decide his future after the Barcelona presidential elections. After four seasons during which he delivered high-level performances, the player is free to choose his next destination, and Chicago Fire is one of the clubs most interested in signing him.

The coach and manager of Chicago Fire held a meeting with Lewandowski in Barcelona two months ago to explore the possibility of his transfer in the next season, with his agent Pini Zahavi present.

Reports from the "ESPN" network indicated that Chicago Fire will do everything possible to complete the deal. The report quoted former player and analyst Janusz Michallik, confirming that the club is 100% committed to signing him, adding that they are working on convincing the player and his wife to join the club's sports project.

The report clarified that Lewandowski's priority is to continue with Barcelona, emphasizing that if the Catalan club offers a contract renewal, there will be no discussion. It noted that Chicago Fire is only a potential option if he leaves, highlighting that the club and its coach view him as an ambassador for a project aimed at transforming the team into a major club, especially with plans to open a new stadium in 2028.

Currently, Lewandowski continues to focus on finishing the season in the best possible way to help Barcelona achieve its goals. As he approaches his 38th year at the start of the next season, the player prioritizes stability and family happiness over financial aspects.
