Carrick Crowned Premier League Manager of the Month
Michael Carrick, the head coach of Manchester United, was awarded the best manager for January in the Premier League after his impressive start in coaching the team.
Carrick took over the responsibility from Ruben Amorim in mid-January and led the team to stunning victories against the league's top two teams, starting with a 2-0 win in the Manchester Derby against Manchester City, followed by a 3-2 victory over Arsenal, handing Arsenal their first home defeat of the season under Mikel Arteta.
Manchester United earned twice as many points in their two matches under Carrick's leadership compared to the previous three matches against bottom teams Leeds United, Wolverhampton, and Burnley.
Carrick became one of only seven interim managers to win this award, and the second from Manchester United after Ole Gunnar who won it in January 2019. He is also the first English manager to win the award since April 2024 when Sean Dyche was the manager of Everton.
