Barcelona is preparing to attempt a football miracle when it hosts Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final on Tuesday, March 3, at 10:00 PM Cairo time, at Spotify Camp Nou, after losing the first leg 4-0.

The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' reported that Barcelona has never succeeded in its history in all knockout matches to overcome a four-goal deficit except once. That instance was in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League in the 2016/2017 season, when they overturned their loss against Paris Saint-Germain to a 6-1 victory in the second leg.

The Catalan team failed in four other attempts to make up the goal difference: against Valencia in the final of the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in the 1961/1962 season '6-2 and 1-1', against Real Sociedad in the Round of 16 of the 1968/1969 Cup '5-1 and 3-0', against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final in the 2012/2013 season '4-0 and 3-0', and against Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup in 2015 '4-0 and 1-1'.

Barcelona will have a rest during the midweek until the second leg, unlike Atletico Madrid led by Diego Simeone, who will play the Champions League playoff to qualify for the Round of 16, while Barcelona has already qualified.

Atletico will play the first leg in Bruges on Wednesday, February 18, and the second leg at home on Tuesday, February 24, just one week before visiting Barcelona.

Before returning to the Copa del Rey, Barcelona will play three league matches, on Monday, February 16, away against Girona, on Sunday, February 22, at home against Levante, and on Saturday, February 29, also at home against Villarreal.
