Officially.. Demiral Absent from Al-Ahli Against Al-Shabab
Thursday 12-02-2026
Turkish player Merih Demiral, defender of the Saudi Al-Ahli club, is confirmed absent from the match against Al-Shabab in the twenty-second round of the Saudi Professional League due to not being fully physically ready.

The newspaper 'Al-Riyadiyah' explained that Demiral's chances of participation seem very slim, as he has been away from Al-Ahli's group training sessions during the practice held yesterday, Wednesday.

The Turkish defender has been absent from Al-Ahli's recent matches against Neom, Al-Ettifaq, Al-Hazem, and UAE's Al-Wahda since his injury in the match against Al-Khaleej in the seventeenth round of the league.

On the other hand, the technical staff led by Matthias Jaissle received a positive boost with the return of Brazilian Galeno, who is now ready to participate against Al-Shabab.

Galeno's readiness came after he was rested against UAE's Al-Wahda in the AFC Champions League elite group, following a minor injury that kept him from the main training recently.

Al-Ahli ranks third in the Saudi league standings with 47 points, trailing by three points behind the leader Al-Hilal, and two points behind Al-Nassr in second place.
