Winter Screening Shapes the Features of a New Union Version
Al-Ittihad Club has initiated a new phase of planning by implementing a well-considered winter overhaul aimed at reshaping the team and changing its technical identity before the start of the next season.
In recent times, the federation has sought to utilize the available support more effectively to build a balanced team capable of competing strongly both locally and continentally in the coming years.
Tariq Al-Tuwaijri revealed on the "Nadina" program that the management of Al-Ittihad has a clear vision and a comprehensive strategy to revamp the team at the start of the 2026-27 season.
Al-Tuwaijri explained that not retaining some players during the winter transfer period was part of a calculated plan, allowing the club to invest the expected greater support in the summer market.
He added that the club still maintains good financial flexibility, unlike some other clubs that have exhausted their support on massive deals in recent periods.
The winter phase witnessed the sale of the remaining duration of Frenchman N'Golo Kanté's contract to Fenerbahçe, as part of an exchange deal that resulted in the signing of Moroccan Youssef En-Nesyri.
The management of Al-Ittihad also agreed to terminate the contract of French striker Karim Benzema, who moved to Al-Hilal on a free transfer, as part of a comprehensive restructuring of the team's roster.
