Al-Ahly Returns from Algeria After Officially Qualifying for the African Champions League Quarter-Finals

The first football team delegation of Al Ahly Club, headed by board member Mohamed El Garhy, arrived at Cairo International Airport on Sunday morning, coming from Algeria after facing JS Kabylie in the fifth round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

Al-Ahly played to a goalless draw against Algeria's JS Kabylie in the match held last Saturday evening at the Hussein Ait Ahmed Stadium. The game was marked by intense competition and mutual attempts from both teams, but none were converted into goals.

After the match, Danish coach Jes Thorup of Al Ahly club confirmed that his team did not perform at their best during the game, pointing out that some absences and fatigue affected the performance. However, he emphasized his satisfaction with achieving the main goal, which was qualifying for the next round.

With this draw, Al Ahly club officially secured qualification to the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League, having topped the group with 9 points. They were followed by Morocco's Royal Army in second place with 8 points, then Young Africans in third with 5 points, while JS Kabylie was at the bottom of the standings with 3 points. The Red Giant continues its continental journey steadily towards competing for the title.
