Manchester United Gets a Second Chance to Sign Delap

Manchester United may soon get a second chance to sign striker Liam Delap, with whom the agreement was 90% complete last summer before signing Benjamin Sesko, according to 'TEAMtalk'.

Delap, 23, moved to Chelsea last summer from Ipswich Town after a clause worth around £30 million was activated. He was expected to establish himself in the starting lineup and convince the coaching staff of his place in England's World Cup plans.

However, this season has seen significant difficulties, as Delap suffered a hamstring injury during the derby match against Fulham in August, which sidelined him for two months. He did not score his first goal until January, leaving him with just one goal in 15 Premier League matches.

Manchester United, along with Newcastle and Everton, are closely monitoring Delap's performance developments, in case Chelsea decides to listen to offers.

The report confirmed that Manchester United intended to sign Delap before signing Sesko, but the team's failure to qualify for the Champions League after losing the Europa League final to Tottenham prevented the deal from being completed. The player still has a chance to prove himself at Chelsea, and his future may depend on what he delivers during the remainder of the season.
