Al-Hilal Thwarts Fenerbahçe's Plans to Sign Núñez and Aktasik

The Uruguayan duo, Darwin Núñez and Yusuf Akçay, insisted on staying with Al-Hilal Saudi Club, halting attempts by the Turkish club Fenerbahçe to bring them in during the winter transfer window, which concludes today.

The Saudi sports newspaper reported that Núñez refused to transfer to Fenerbahçe, preferring to stay with Al Hilal, as he feels comfortable and happy within the team, unlike the French player N'Golo Kanté of Al-Ittihad, who insisted on moving to the Turkish club.

The newspaper indicated that Al-Hilal's management rejected Fenerbahçe's official offer to reclaim Yusuf Akçayışık, considering the young defender an essential part of the team's future plans, making his departure unlikely.

Al-Hilal had signed Núñez and Akçayşik during the last summer transfer window, coming from Liverpool and Fenerbahçe, to strengthen the attack and defense lines of the blue team.

This season, Darwin Núñez has scored 7 goals and provided 5 assists in 22 matches, while Yusuf Akçaycık has played 15 games, scoring one goal and not registering any assists.

With these developments, Al Hilal continues to maintain its core elements, enhancing its ability to compete both locally and continentally, and preventing Fenerbahçe from exploiting any gaps in the blue team's lineup during the winter transfer window.
