Hamza Abdel Karim Faces a New Obstacle with Barcelona
Friday 06-02-2026
The young Egyptian forward Hamza Abdel Karim, the new addition to Barcelona Athletic, faces a new administrative hurdle delaying his debut with the reserve team, despite regularly training with his teammates under the guidance of coach Juliano Belletti.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport," the delay in Hamza's participation is due to bureaucratic procedures and legal paperwork for players from outside the European Union. This is the same challenge the club previously faced with other foreign players. Because of this issue, the 18-year-old player, who joined on loan from Al Ahly with an option to buy, has not been able to officially join the matches yet.

This delay comes at a time when the team needs to strengthen its attacking line, especially with the presence of Spanish striker Joaquin Delgado, who has proven his effectiveness by scoring 3 goals in his first three matches, making him the immediate solution to enhance the team's offensive capabilities.

Despite the administrative hurdle, FC Barcelona shows full confidence in Hamza Abdel Karim's ability to develop and contribute to the team once these procedures are resolved, amidst strong competition for the center-forward position with Delgado and Oscar Gestau.

On the other hand, the other two newcomers seem ready to participate. The Dutch defender Younesli Onstein has all the necessary legal documents and can participate immediately, while the Uruguayan left-back Patricio Pacifico needs to recover from some physical pains before making his official appearance.

Coach Juliano Belletti finds himself facing a dual challenge of developing these young talents and preparing them for the first team, while managing the administrative and physical obstacles that new players encounter.
