Jesus' Silence Threatens Al-Nassr with Financial Penalty
The absence of Portuguese Jorge Jesus, the coach of Al-Nassr, from the pre-match press conference for the Al-Ittihad game opens the door to controversy ahead of the top clash in the twenty-first round of the Saudi Roshn League.
Al-Nassr is preparing to host Al-Ittihad on the evening of Friday, February 6, at Al-Awwal Park in the capital, Riyadh, as part of the Saudi Professional League competitions.
The Saudi sports newspaper revealed that Jesus decided to cancel the mandatory press conference before the match, preferring not to make a media appearance before the anticipated encounter.
The regulations of the Saudi Professional League require coaches to hold press conferences before matches that take place on their home grounds, in addition to the conferences that follow the matches.
According to Article 101 of the Media, Content, and Broadcasting Regulations, a fine of 50,000 riyals is imposed for the first violation, with a suspension of enforcement until the end of the season, and it is increased to 100,000 riyals in case of repetition.
The fine reaches 500,000 riyals in the event of a third repeat offense, noting that this is Jesus's second absence in three days, following his failure to attend the recent Riyadh match conference.
Al-Nassr continues its strong presence in the league, currently holding second place in the Roshan League standings with 46 points, achieved from 15 wins, one draw, and three losses.
