Press reports mentioned that the Italian club Atalanta is considering selling its player Ederson to Atletico Madrid during the upcoming summer transfer window, following the departure of former team player Ademola Lookman on the last day of the January window.

The clubs had completed two significant deals in January: the first was Giacomo Raspadori's return to the Italian league after a short stint in Spain, and the second was Lookman's transfer to Atletico Madrid for approximately 35 million euros plus bonuses. The current reports are in the context of the excellent relations between the two clubs, which may facilitate the upcoming deal for Ederson.

Ederson's current estimated value is between 40 and 50 million euros, while his contract with Atalanta expires in the summer of 2027. This makes the summer of 2026 the last opportunity for the Italian club to financially benefit from the 26-year-old player if his contract is not renewed.

It is said that Diego Simeone is very interested in signing Ederson, and that Atlético Madrid is prepared to double the player's salary from around 2 million euros to approximately 4 million euros per season, to ensure his acquisition and provide a pivotal role in the Spanish team's midfield.
