Al-Karma Signs Egyptian Ahmed Abdelkader Until 2027
Wednesday 04-02-2026
Al-Karma Club successfully finalized one of its most prominent deals during the winter transfer window, having officially signed Egyptian Al-Ahly player Ahmed Abdelkader. This move aims to strengthen the team's offensive power and continue competing strongly in the Iraq Stars League.

According to press sources, Al-Karma's management completed the signing procedures for the 26-year-old striker for $220,000, with his contract extending with the team until the summer of 2027, just one day before the closure of the winter transfer window in Iraq.

The player is expected to arrive in Iraq next Saturday after completing his entry visa procedures, making him available to Spanish coach Antonio Cazorla, who highly relies on his attacking capabilities and ability to make a difference in the front line, especially given the team's ambitions this season.

The signing of Abdelkader comes as a replacement for striker Ali Alwan's departure to Qatari club Al-Sailiya, as the Egyptian player impressed the coaching staff after a series of communications conducted through intermediaries, searching for a striker with technical specifications capable of adding quality to the team.

Abdelkader participated this season in six matches in the Egyptian league, alongside four other encounters in cup, super cup, and African Champions League tournaments. This marks his third professional experience after previous stints with the Czech Sparta Prague reserves and Qatari club Qatar SC.

It seems Al-Karma will not settle with this deal, as reports indicate the club is close to finalizing the signing of Tunisian Imad Al-Luwati from Kuwaiti club Al-Salmiya, as part of the management's efforts to strengthen the ranks with names capable of providing the required addition.

It is noteworthy that the winter transfer window in Iraq concludes on Thursday, after a month that witnessed significant activity from clubs benefiting from the federation's decision to allow the addition of five new players, which contributed to raising the competition level among teams.

Ahmed Abdelkader hopes to regain his best form through the gateway of the Iraq Stars League and open a new chapter in his football career, while Al-Karma fans look forward to him being a real addition that leads the team towards positive results in the upcoming rounds.
