Fenerbahçe Opens Negotiations with Al Hilal to Sign Darwin Núñez
Wednesday 04-02-2026
Turkish press reports, quoting sports journalist "Serkan Hamzaoglu," stated that the Turkish club Fenerbahçe has begun its official moves to strengthen its attacking line during the winter transfer market, which ends on Thursday in Turkey. They have identified Uruguayan striker Darwin Núñez, a player for Al-Hilal Saudi Club, as a primary target for the team.

Sources mentioned that the Turkish club's management has made an official offer to their counterparts at Al-Hilal, which includes the loan of Nunez for six months. This is part of the team's coach's efforts to strengthen the effectiveness of the front line to compete strongly for the Turkish league title.

This step comes after Núñez's transfer to the ranks of "Al-Za'eem" from Liverpool in the summer of 2025 in a major deal, which makes the Saudi side's approval for the player's departure mid-season a difficult challenge for Fenerbahçe's management, especially since the player is under contract until 2028. However, the arrival of Karim Benzema may ease the matter.

In the event that negotiations regarding Núñez falter, reports indicate that Fenerbahçe's list includes strong alternative options, among them the player Artem Dovbyk. However, the current focus is entirely on securing the deal for the Uruguayan star due to his physical and scoring abilities that align with the team's ambitions.
