The Moroccan Football Federation officially announced its decision to file an appeal against the rulings issued by the Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), concerning the events that occurred during the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations.

A statement from the federation indicated that it recently received decisions from the Disciplinary Committee regarding the match between the national team and its Senegalese counterpart on January 18, 2026, which saw the withdrawal of the Senegalese players and staff from the field, leading to a state of chaos.

The Moroccan federation considered that the sanctions imposed by "CAF" do not match the "severity and seriousness of these events," affirming in a previous official correspondence to the President of the African Confederation its full commitment to its legal rights.

The Disciplinary Committee had imposed sanctions, including financial fines, on the Moroccan side due to certain actions.
