Sunday 01-02-2026
French press reports, most notably from the newspaper L'Équipe, stated that the 28-year-old French winger Allan Saint-Maximin has become a free agent after terminating his contract with the Mexican club Club América. He is expected to sign soon with the French club Lens.

This interest comes as part of Lens' efforts to strengthen their wings during the current transfer window, in an attempt to bolster their squad to continue competing for the French league title.

The club's sporting director, Jean-Louis Leca, has been monitoring the player market in recent days in search of an outstanding winger, and Saint-Maximin is considered a strong addition to the team.

Allan Saint-Maximin's professional career has seen him move between several European and Arab clubs. He started with Saint-Étienne from 2013 to 2015, then moved to Monaco with loan spells at Hannover 96 and Bastia, before making a notable impact at Nice between 2017 and 2019. He then transferred to Newcastle United in England, where he played over 110 matches in the Premier League. He later had a stint with Al-Ahli Saudi FC, including a loan to Fenerbahçe in Turkey, before moving to Club América in Mexico this season.

Saint-Maximin is known for his great speed, high individual skills, and ability to create goals and lead counter-attacks, making him a potentially strong addition to Lens' lineup.
