Real Mallorca Moves to Sign Moroccan Chadi Riad to Strengthen Defense
Saturday 31-01-2026
Real Mallorca is working on strengthening its defense by signing Moroccan international Chadi Riad, as part of its efforts to bolster the defensive system before the resumption of the Spanish league.

Spanish media reports stated that the club's sporting director, Pablo Ortells, along with former team player Aritz Aduriz, traveled to the British capital, London, this week to explore the possibility of completing the deal with the player.

Shadi Riad possesses strong physical capabilities and distinctive defensive skills, in addition to his excellence in aerial balls and passing accuracy, which gives him the ability to smoothly build play from the back. This is an aspect that Real Mallorca is currently looking to improve.

The Moroccan defender is considered a suitable option for the club, especially after his recent return to playing with Crystal Palace. He participated in the final minutes against Chelsea and contributed to his team's only goal in the match that ended with a score of 3-1, following his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament tear that had kept him off the field for a long time.

Real Mallorca hopes to finalize the deal soon to enhance defensive stability and provide additional solutions for the coaching staff in the upcoming phase of the Spanish league competition.
