The match between Real Madrid and Benfica at Estadio da Luz was a significant blow for coach Álvaro Arbeloa with the Spanish team, according to the Spanish newspaper 'AS'.

The newspaper indicated that Real Madrid struggled on a tactical level, as the effectiveness of the high press disappeared, and the defense allowed many shots on goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who faced 12 shots from eight different players, including a goal by Benfica's goalkeeper in the 97th minute.

The performance of key players like Bellingham, Vinicius, and Masatantono also declined, while Camavinga lost vitality in his midfield position.

Arbeloa spoke after the match saying, 'I would like to say it's just a clear matter and I have clarity of vision, but there are many missing things, Benfica outperformed us.'

The newspaper highlighted that Real Madrid ran less than Benfica (141 km compared to 151 km) and lost the aggression battle, with ball recoveries at 44 times compared to previous matches like against Monaco (61 recoveries), Levante (59), and Villarreal (57).
