Imam Ashour Apologizes to Al-Ahly and Its Fans
Friday 30-01-2026
Imam Ashour, the Al-Ahly star, apologized to his club and the fans for the recent issue, as he missed the club's delegation traveling to Tanzania to play against Young Africans in the African Champions League.

Imam Ashour said on Instagram: "Unfortunately, a lot of incorrect and false information is being circulated about what happened. I accept any decision the club makes and am confident that the officials at Al Ahly will understand my position well. I really have a severe cold, high fever, and unusual stomach issues, and I'm taking antibiotics. Unfortunately, my whole family is suffering from the same symptoms. I informed Dr. Ahmed Gaballah about my health conditions and my inability to travel. This is an insufficient measure in such matters."

He continued: "But I made a mistake with good intentions, and I should have contacted Captain Walid Salah El-Din to inform the coach and follow the medical procedures required when missing a trip. The matter is closed now. I contacted Captain Walid Salah El-Din last night. I am at the club's disposal."

He continued: "Al Ahly fans are my support and backbone after God Almighty. I apologize to the club, the coaching staff, my teammates, and above all, the Al Ahly fans. I am proud to play for the biggest club in Africa. My relationship with its great fans is indivisible. I ask everyone to close this subject. To those who say that Imam wants to twist the club's arm, I say God is my witness, no one can twist Al Ahly's arm. I would never think that way. I am honored to wear the red jersey and have been with the club for three years. Thank God, I have never fallen short in my duty to the club or its fans. That's my obligation. Being at Al Ahly, the club of the century, with Al Ahly fans behind me, compensates for everything. We have an important match tomorrow. I hope for all the best for my teammates and the coaching staff, and that we achieve a victory that makes all Al Ahly fans happy."
