CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe confirmed in a press statement the unwavering commitment of the Confederation of African Football to protect the integrity of African football and maintain its global reputation, emphasizing that the CAF Executive Committee and all member associations work with a unified spirit to ensure the development of the game and enhance its competitiveness on the international stage.

Motsepe expressed his disappointment over the unacceptable events that accompanied the recent African Cup of Nations finals, explaining that he reviewed the decisions issued by the disciplinary committee, and confirmed his full respect for the independence of the judicial bodies within the federation and the necessity to comply with all judgments issued by them.

The CAF President indicated that he has called for a special meeting of the Executive Committee to review the existing disciplinary regulations, with the aim of tightening penalties for serious violations, ensuring deterrence of any behavior that tarnishes the image of African football or diminishes the values of sportsmanship within continental competitions.

Motsepe also stressed that the federation continues to work on developing the level of referees and arbitration techniques in the continent, with additional resources allocated to support them and enhance their efficiency, affirming his confidence in African football's ability to continue growing and maintaining its prestigious global status.
