Al-Qadisiyah Club is close to finalizing a strong defensive deal by signing Walid Al-Ahmed, the defender from Al-Taawoun team, during the current winter transfer window, after competing with Al-Ittihad Club.

According to the Saudi sports newspaper, Al-Riyadiyah, Al-Qadsiah Club's management is close to finalizing an agreement with Al-Taawoun to purchase Walid Al-Ahmed's contract, as negotiations between the three parties, the two clubs and the player, have reached their final stages.

The newspaper clarified that Al-Taawoun Club agreed to the departure of Waleed Al-Ahmed, despite his contract extending for the next two seasons until the summer of 2027, in light of the offer made by Al-Qadisiyah.

Walid Al-Ahmad, aged 26, has expressed his approval of the offer from Al-Qadisiyah Club, paving the way for the deal to be completed during the current January transfer window.

Recent press reports have indicated that Al-Ittihad Club is interested in acquiring the services of Waleed Al-Ahmed. However, the financial demands of Al-Taawoun's management have prevented the deal from being completed, leading to a halt in negotiations for the time being.

It is noted that Waleed Al-Ahmad joined Al-Taawoun in the summer of 2023, coming from Al-Faisaly Club, and during the current season, he participated in 16 matches, successfully scoring 4 goals.
