Khaled Al-Ghandour Criticizes Imam Ashour
The media personality Khaled Al-Ghandour criticized Al Ahly player Imam Ashour for not traveling with his club's delegation to Tanzania to play the match against Young Africans in the African Champions League.
Al-Ghandour said on Facebook: "The great always remains great, no matter how much the mistaken one thinks they can diminish or belittle them. On the contrary, it's the mistaken one who becomes smaller. Let's set things straight and get to the point."
He continued: "Al-Ahly will always remain Al-Ahly with its fans, its history, its principles, and its management that operates according to institutional principles. One of the most important principles of institutions is that people come and go, but the institution remains with its principles. That's why we see that the Al-Ahly of the Mortagy team is the same as the Al-Ahly of Saleh Selim, the same as the Al-Ahly of Hassan Hamdy, the same as the Al-Ahly of Mahmoud Taher, and the same as the Al-Ahly of El-Khatib."
He added: "That's why Al Ahly is great and will remain great. Many people criticized Al Ahly when they signed Imam Ashour because of that song incident in the youth match, and those people are wrong because professionalism is based on reward and punishment. Imam made a mistake, was punished, apologized, joined Al Ahly, and performed very well. When he made a mistake, he was punished, but the last mistake is very, very, very big, Imam. Forget about the money, contracts, and management. Where is your loyalty to the fans and your teammates on the field? I want to know where your mind is when you abandon your team as they travel to Tanzania to play a match in Al Ahly's and its fans' most important tournament?"
He continued: "By the way, Imam of Al-Ahly, the big club won't stop because of you, and no one will lose like you. Your first losses are the historic penalty of a deduction of one and a half million and a five-match suspension, but the more important loss is your image in front of the fans who changed their opinion of you for your sake, your image in front of the management that honored and appreciated you, and your image in front of your teammates on the field."
Al-Ghandour concluded: "In the end, only the truth will prevail, and a smart person's mistake is worth a thousand. But when the mistake is against a great entity known for its principles and strictness, it's not just worth a thousand. Nooooo, you should reconsider your actions, Imam. If you want to stay and continue, you need to apologize and commit. If you want to leave, you should also apologize, comply with your club, respect your contract, and exit through the main door. It's unreasonable to keep betraying those who support you every few years. Hats off to Al-Ahly Club."
