Roma Officially Ends Carrasco Pursuit
Thursday 29-01-2026
The sporting director of AS Roma, Ricky Massara, announced the failure of negotiations aimed at signing Belgian Yannick Ferreira Carrasco from Saudi club Al-Shabab during the current transfer window, confirming that the deal will not come to fruition.

Masara explained in his statements that the club's management did indeed try to sign Carrasco, but circumstances did not allow for the agreement to be completed, noting that the talks reached a definitive dead end.

He added, "We tried to sign Yannick Ferreira Carrasco, but the deal can be considered canceled," before emphasizing that proceeding with the negotiations is no longer possible at this time.

Rome's decision to close the file reflects the administration's direction to seek alternative options to strengthen the team's lineup, especially with the need to bolster the wings before entering the critical stages of the season.
