Dieng on the Decision Table in Valencia
Thursday 29-01-2026
Valencia Club successfully met the demands set by head coach Carlos Corberan to the sports administration during the winter transfer window by signing players who possess experience and the ability to quickly integrate and provide an immediate boost to the team.

Meanwhile, the club continued to work on other avenues in the transfer market, in preparation for finalizing them as the next season approaches.

In this context, the names of center-back De Haas and Al Ahly's midfielder Aliou Dieng stand out, both of whose contracts expire at the end of the current season. They are positively evaluated by the sports management overseen by Ron Gourlay.

According to reports, Valencia has reached a preliminary agreement with De Haas to join the team after his contract with the Portuguese club Famalicão ends, with plans to sign a four-season contract.

Radio Valenciana - Cadena SER also indicated that Aliou Dieng, whose contract with Egyptian club Al Ahly expires on June 30, is also part of the same considerations.

Valencia's management views De Haas and De Jong as suitable opportunities in the summer transfer market, aligning with the club's future project. Although their names were considered for contracts during the January period, the priority at that time was to strengthen the team with ready players who did not require an adaptation period, whether in terms of the nature of the Spanish league or the language factor.

In planning for the new season, the management considers that the two deals align with the available financial capabilities. They also believe that a full summer preparation period will give the players the necessary opportunity to adapt to Corberán's ideas. Therefore, Valencia is aiming to conclude negotiations early, especially with the players' contracts nearing their end in June.
