Al-Ittihad Squanders Three Points in the Final Minutes Against Al-Fateh in a Thrilling Comeback

Al-Ittihad Club missed out on a near victory and settled for a 2-2 draw against Al-Fateh in an exciting match held on Thursday as part of the 19th round of the Saudi Professional League.

The team started the match with a strong lineup that included Rajkovic as the goalkeeper, Hassan Kadesh, Danilo Pereira, Mario Mitaj, Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti, Fabinho, Kante, Doumbia, Moussa Diaby, Roger Fernandez, and Saleh Al-Shehri in the attack.

Saleh Al-Shehri scored the first goal for Al-Ittihad in the 25th minute, following up on a shot by Doumbia that was saved by Al-Fateh's goalkeeper, ending the first half with Al-Ittihad leading 1-0.

The visiting team tried to equalize, while Al-Ittihad missed opportunities to extend their lead, most notably Roger's shot in the 52nd minute after a pass from Kante that didn't find the net.

Mourad Batna succeeded in equalizing for Al-Fateh with a penalty kick in the 74th minute, before Saleh Al-Shehri restored the lead for Al-Ittihad with a second penalty kick in the 84th minute.

In the final moments, Matias Vargas scored an equalizing goal for Al-Fateh in the 90+9 minute, ending the match in a 2-2 draw. This result raised Al-Ittihad's tally to 31 points in sixth place, while Al-Fateh earned 22 points in ninth place.
