Antonio Conte, the coach of Napoli, painted a realistic picture of the situation after his team was eliminated from the Champions League in the group stage, following a 3-2 defeat against Chelsea at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, despite Napoli leading 2-1 in the first half.

After the match, Conte spoke about his team's performance and said: "The difference was in the precision in front of the goal. Chelsea was more effective and professional, and that made the difference tonight."

He added: "I feel that João Pedro made the difference; he scored two fantastic goals and contributed significantly to turning the result in favor of his team."

He continued: "We feel proud and satisfied. Despite the absence of more than half of the lineup, we played very well, and I believe we deserved more than what we ultimately got."

Regarding the previous mistakes that affected the team's exit, the coach said: "I told the players that the regret was in the Copenhagen match, where we lost in a way that shouldn't have happened. This put us up against a big team like Chelsea, and don't forget that they won the Club World Cup and have excellent players on the field, on the bench, and even in the stands."

He added: "I am very proud of the players because we put pressure on Chelsea, created chances, and fought for every ball. It's unfortunate that we couldn't even reach the playoffs. Their quality in the final third was decisive, and when they got their chances, they hurt us."

He continued: "The team's performance was good, but there is room for improvement. We put ourselves in good positions, and some of the crosses could have been decisive. However, we played bravely and launched attacks despite leaving some spaces behind us."

Conte concluded his remarks by saying: "We honored the Champions League with this performance, and we faced Chelsea with strength. The final result does not fully reflect the course of the match."
