Date and Time of the UEFA Champions League Playoff Draw
The curtain fell on Wednesday evening on the first stage of the UEFA Champions League for the 2025-2026 season, in an exciting conclusion that extended until the final moments of the closing round, reaffirming the tournament's status as the strongest and fiercest continental club competition.
According to the official website of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), the playoff draw for the round of 16 will be held on Friday, January 30, at 2:00 PM Saudi time, 1:00 PM Egypt and Palestine time.
The playoff matches are scheduled to be played on February 17 and 18 (first leg), and February 24 and 25 (second leg), with the round of 16 matches taking place on March 10 and 11 (first leg), and March 17 and 18 (second leg).
The teams that qualified for the playoffs are: Real Madrid, Inter, Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Atalanta, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Olympiacos, Club Brugge, Galatasaray, Monaco, Qarabag, Bodo/Glimt, and Benfica.
Eight clubs succeeded in securing their direct spots in the round of 16, which are: Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Tottenham, Barcelona, Chelsea, Sporting Lisbon, and Manchester City.
It is noted that the draw for the round of 16 will take place on February 27.
