Barcelona Settles Its Final Stance on Signing Ita Eyoung
Wednesday 28-01-2026
Barcelona has made its decision regarding the signing of young striker Ita Eyoung, after closely following him in the past period, given his remarkable performance with Levante and his success in his first appearance in the African Cup of Nations.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Sport', Barcelona had shown interest in Ita Eyoung during the last summer transfer window when the player moved to Levante for three million euros, in a deal described at the time as tempting, before the release clause in his contract currently rose to 30 million euros.

The newspaper explained that Barcelona's management inquired about the player in the last days of the August market, but Villarreal preferred to move him to Levante with the aim of investing in him for the future, which made the deal possible at that time in terms of price and the development plan between the reserve team and the first team or through a loan.

Sport added that Barcelona, despite appreciating the development achieved by Eyoung and the good relationship with his surroundings, decided not to enter the race to sign him at the moment, especially with the realization that there are clubs from the English Premier League capable of paying the release clause.

The report confirmed that the option of Eyoung's transfer to Barcelona, which was proposed as a low-cost deal in recent months, has become almost excluded, given the Catalan club's search for a first-class striker and more readiness at the competitive level, and based on that, the player's surroundings have begun studying the available offers.
